Having lived in Holbeach all my life and help on various committees I wanted to be involved in matters that benefit everyone. The Parish council seemed like a great way to follow this process, as a volunteer and work as a team to make benefits for all that live in the Parish of Holbeach. I knew that this would not be an easy task but with all the training provided I knew this is where I wanted to volunteer my spare time.
Now in my 4th year on the council and first year as Chairman of the Parish Council, I have seen the whole process shift to a balanced system where procedures are clear, and teamwork is of the essence. There is always a challenge to be had and together we make progress which is the way forward. I would encourage anyone considering joining us to come along to any of the public meetings we have to get a taste of what we all do as volunteers. A Parish Councillor is a great opportunity.
